At No Barks About It, safety comes first
Please read through our policies to help us ensure your dog has a safe and fun experience
Vaccinations: All dogs must be current on their vaccinations. Grooming dogs must provide proof of up-to-date rabies vaccinations. Puppies under 4 months must provide proof of at least the first series of puppy vaccines. Self-wash dogs do not need to provide proof for us to keep on file. If your dog is exhibiting signs of illness or injury, please do not bring them in - help us keep everyone else happy and healthy!
Illness: If your dog is exhibiting signs of illness (diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, lack of appetite, coughing, sneezing, etc.) you must keep them home until they are symptom-free. Many canine illnesses are airborne; even dogs who do not directly contact other dogs can spread an airborne illness to other dogs in the facility.
Fleas/Ticks: Dogs who present with fleas will be given a flea bath at the owner's expense, or sent home and can return when the fleas have been resolved. Ticks will be removed, if more than 3 are found, additional charges for removal will apply.
Aggressive/Dangerous/Stressed Pets: In the event that your animal is too stressed or becomes dangerous to handle, we will not continue services that day. Your dog's safety is our first priority! If we think your pet is a danger to other dogs, staff, or themselves (including extreme anxiety), it is in everyone's best interest to stop the grooming. Thank you for your understanding!
Sedated Pets: We cannot work with sedated pets. If we believe your pet has been sedated, we will stop all services and the pet must be picked up immediately.
Matting: " HUMANITY BEFORE VANITY" Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. No Barks About It will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting excessively matted coats . If we determine we cannot safely and humanely de-mat your pet, our only choice is to shave the mats off. This might mean spot-shaving matted areas (like belly, armpits, behind ears, chest, etc..) and blending it into the rest of the coat, or a full body shave down. Please click here for our blog post on matting, de-matting, and how to prevent it.
Cancellations: Because we book on an hourly basis and cancellations can leave an empty block in the schedule that could have otherwise been used by another customer, we ask that any cancellations or re-schedulings are made at least 24 business hours in advance or a fee equal to the cost of the scheduled appointment will apply and be payable prior to scheduling another appointment.
Payment: Payment is due at time of pick-up. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmericanExpress, and local checks.
All dogs MUST be leashed! Not all dogs are comfortable greeting strange dogs. All dogs must be on a leash, and retractable leashes must be locked at 6ft for less. Please do not allow your dog to approach another dog in the lobby. Children: Many dogs are not comfortable around children, please do not allow your child to approach or touch a dog they do not know. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. We will not release a dog to a child under the age of 14 without the parent present.
Entrance/Exit: Our facility is designed for one-way flow of traffic to prevent accidental meetings between dogs and their people. Please exit by way of the designated side exit and not the front entrance. Self-wash customers may leave directly from the self-wash room exit.
Self-Wash: We cannot provide scissors, clippers, nail clippers or larger dryers for self-wash. The items provided are chosen for the safety of both dog and owner. Our grooming equipment is very sharp/powerful and can cause severe injury when not used properly!
